Stripe Connect setup

OrderUp uses Stripe Connect so customer payments land directly in your Stripe account. We never touch, hold, or forward your money, and we take no cut of orders.

Connecting your account

  1. In the dashboard, open Stripe connection.
  2. Click Connect with Stripe.
  3. Sign in to your existing Stripe account, or create one on the spot — Stripe walks you through it (business details, bank account for payouts, identity verification).
  4. You'll land back in your dashboard with a green Connected status.

What the statuses mean

  • Connected and in good standing — payments flow normally.
  • Pending — Stripe is still verifying your details. This usually resolves on its own within a day or two.
  • Restricted — Stripe needs something from you (often updated identity or bank details). Ordering is paused until you resolve it in your Stripe dashboard. It resumes automatically — no need to touch anything in OrderUp.
  • Disabled — Stripe has disabled the account. Ordering is paused; resolve the issue with Stripe to resume.

If your account degrades, we email you and show a banner in the dashboard with a link to fix it.

Refunds

Refunds happen in your Stripe dashboard, not in OrderUp. When you cancel an order, the order card shows a Refund in Stripe link that takes you straight to the payment. Issue the refund there — full or partial, your call.

Payouts, fees, and disputes

Payout schedules, Stripe's card processing fees, and any disputes are between you and Stripe, exactly as if you ran your own card terminal. OrderUp adds nothing on top.
