Ordering configuration

The Ordering page controls how checkout behaves. Saving it (even with defaults) is one of the four publishing requirements.

Pickup model

  • ASAP only — customers order, you make it, they come get it. Set a prep time (e.g. 20 minutes) so customers know what to expect at checkout.
  • Scheduled slots only — customers pick a time window today. You choose the slot length (15 or 30 minutes) and, optionally, a max orders per slot so a rush can't bury the kitchen. Full slots disappear from the picker automatically.
  • Both — ASAP by default, with the option to order ahead.

Max ASAP orders per hour is your pressure valve: when the hour fills up, new customers are prompted to order ahead for a scheduled slot instead (“Order ahead for 6:30 PM”).

Tips

Turn tipping on or off. When on, you choose:

  • The suggested percentages (up to four, e.g. 10 / 15 / 20%)
  • Whether customers can enter a custom amount
  • Whether they can skip the tip

Tips are part of the same card payment and settle to your Stripe account with the rest of the order.

Minimums and the small-order fee

  • Order minimum — checkout is blocked below this subtotal, with a clear message telling the customer how much more to add.
  • Small-order surcharge — instead of blocking, add a fee (say $2) to orders under a threshold (say $20). Configure both the threshold and the fee, or leave both blank to disable.

Tax

Set your flat sales tax rate as a percentage. It's applied to the subtotal and shown as its own line at checkout and on receipts.

Important: OrderUp does not calculate, collect, or remit sales tax. You set the rate, and collection and remittance remain your responsibility — same as your in-store register.
