Getting started

Welcome to OrderUp. This guide takes you from a fresh account to a live ordering site — most restaurants finish in under 30 minutes.

What you'll need

  • An email address you check often (order alerts go there)
  • A payment card for your subscription (your 30-day trial is free; the card is charged on day 30)
  • A Stripe account — or 10 minutes to create one during setup
  • Your menu, and ideally a few photos

The setup checklist

Publishing your storefront requires four things. You can do them in any order and leave anytime — the dashboard remembers where you were.

  1. Verify your email. Click the link in the confirmation email we sent when you signed up.
  2. Connect Stripe. Go to Stripe connection in the dashboard and click Connect with Stripe. Customer payments go directly to your Stripe account — OrderUp never holds your money and takes no commission. See Stripe Connect setup.
  3. Add at least one menu item. Head to Menu and create your categories and items. See Building your menu.
  4. Save your ordering configuration. Under Ordering, review pickup timing, tips, tax, and minimums, then hit save. See Ordering configuration.

When all four are done, the Site page shows every checkmark green and the Publish site button lights up.

Your web address

Your site lives at yourname.orderup.example — pick the name on the Site page. Choose carefully: the address is permanent once you publish.

Already have a website you love? You can use OrderUp for ordering only — see Using your own website.

After you publish

  • Put your address on your social profiles, Google Business listing, and window sticker.
  • Keep the Live orders dashboard open during service — it chimes when an order lands.
  • Set your hours under Hours so ordering opens and closes automatically.
